Call for Doctoral Symposium

Visual Communications and Image Processing (VCIP 2025) Conference, will be held in Klagenfurt, Austria, from December 1 to 4, 2025. VCIP is the oldest conference in the field and one of the flagship conferences of the CAS Visual Signal Processing and Communications Technical Committee. Since 1986, VCIP has served as a premier forum for the exchange of fundamental and applied research in the field of visual communications and image processing.

Who Should Participate?

We welcome submissions from PhD students whose work falls within the scope of the VCIP conference, from the early stages onward—whether they are still defining or have recently defined their research direction and methodology.

Submission Guidelines

Submissions must include: 

For publication:

  1.  Submissions to the Doctoral Symposium track should follow the VCIP 2025 template (i.e., up to 4 pages, including results, figures, and references, with one optional 5th page containing only references, in two-column IEEE format). However, submissions must be single-blind. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings.
  2. A brief letter from your PhD advisor confirming your current doctoral status should be submitted as supplementary material.

For Presentation Only:

  1. A one-page summary should follow the VCIP 2025 template; however, these submissions will not be included in the proceedings.
  2. A brief letter from your PhD advisor confirming your current doctoral status should be submitted as supplementary material.
